round 2...no problems!

Greetings everyone!!!

I know that my updates have been more spread out, but that only means great news! I received my second dose of chemotherapy yesterday and it went without a problem! I felt a little odd on my way home, but after a good hearty dinner, it went away!!! I am half done receiving adriamycin with cytoxin and then will receive four doses of taxol. I will be finished January 14th! My veins are making me proud so far and my blood counts were completely normal! What a blessing! I also got the results of the genetic test, which tests for the BRCA-1 and 2 gene (the two genes linked to breast cancer). I am genetically negative. This is an answer to prayer for my niece Evin and for any future daughter of mine. However, it also leaves the mystery of how I got this so young. God knows! :)

The bummer is that my hair is falling out. It is shedding pretty frequently yet evenly. I fell in love with the people at this wig shop nearby, who when I am ready is willing to shave my head and give my wig a special haircut to fit my face the best. Maybe Friday morning! Pray for my bravery! This week has been a little tougher because Ben had to go out of town for business and he is my buddy through all of this!

Otherwise life is great in northern Virginia! I was able to spend time with Teddy, Kristin, and Evin last weekend. They are all doing wonderful and Evin is gorgeous! She is such a great tempered baby and very alert! She is such a blessing for my family right now! I have also been able to continue working out, having fun (went to the Redskins game Sunday thanks to my friend Pat), and babysitting! Life is great, especially when it can remain somewhat normal!

Thank you so much for everyones continues prayers and words of encouragement! I believe the power of prayer has gotten me through everything and I consider myself extremely lucky to be doing so well! Please pray that this continues!!! Thanks to all my friends and close family, who have unconditionally been there for me through all these changes and new experiences! My friend Jeremy is planning a four square tournament benefit for me, and we need prayer about finding a location! Thank you thank you thank you to everyone!

More updates to come!

Love,
Jami
